I had my display name changed over a year ago. Just some odd little caching issues that went away within a week. It is more impactful if you use services such as GW2 Efficency or GW2 Wingman. For the former, I think you can contact the developer to have the history of the different display names stitched together.

Make sure there are no extra spaces at the beginning or end of your Account Name or password. Try typing your password into a notepad document, then copying and pasting it into the password field.
