A driver is a device that goes between your vehicles wiring and the LED headlight bulb. It gives the LED headlight bulb the type and the amount of electricity it needs to power up. If you didn't have the driver, nothing would happen. The plugin that looks like your original headlight bulb is attached to the other side. This is usually solved by installing a driver on the headlights that are able to support the steady voltage needed by the LED headlight. Itโ€™s possible that the wiring on the car is not able to deliver the needed stable current, so a driver will shoulder that burden. If the flickering persists, double check the relays, switches, and other Wattage is an important factor that you should consider while buying HID ballast. It will determine the level/intensity of light that the HID bulb produces when you switch on the headlight. The most common HID ballast options available in the market are 35watts and 55 watts. Although, you may find 70watts HID ballast in the market. 8 posts ยท Joined 2017. #1 ยท Nov 12, 2017. Hello, new to the forum. Recently i decided to start upgrading the looks of my 06 2500hd. Simply put, the load resistors draw additional current to create a stronger signal to the flasher relay. The down sides to adding load resistors is that they get hot and they reduce one of the primary benefits of change to LED or SMD bulbs; less current draw. That said, load resistors are a quick and easy way to fix a signal flasher problem.
